Every new family gets 30 days free. No card is needed to start.
After that, a plan is $3.99 a month for the whole family. It renews each month until you cancel.
Cancel any time: in the app under Family, then Manage billing, or, if you subscribed through the App Store, in your Apple account's Subscriptions settings. Your plan keeps working until the end of the month you paid for.
Family Chore Buddy keeps a record of chores and kids' money. It is not a bank and never holds real money.

Who we are

Family Chore Buddy is run by Brad Norman in the United States ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

Your account

An account is for a family and is created by a parent or guardian who is at least 18. You are responsible for your family's account: for keeping your sign-in safe, for the other parents you add, and for what is done with it. Kids use the app only on a device a parent has set up, and a parent is responsible for their use of it.

What the app is, and isn't

Family Chore Buddy is a record-keeping tool. Balances, goals, allowances and rewards in the app are records your family keeps, not money held by us or anyone else. Real money stays with you. It is up to you whether a record matches what you actually hand over.

The free trial

A new family can use everything free for 30 days, without giving a card. If you choose a plan during the trial, you will not be charged until the trial ends. When a trial ends without a plan, the app is locked until a parent chooses one. Your family's information is kept, allowances keep being recorded, and everything is there again as soon as you choose a plan.

Plans, renewal and cancelling

A plan costs $3.99 a month for the whole family (plus any tax where it applies). It renews automatically each month, and your card is charged at the start of each month, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the app (Family, then Manage billing), and it takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for; you keep using everything until then. We don't give refunds for part of a month, except where the law requires it. If a payment fails, we and Stripe will try again for a while, and let you know so you can update your card.

Payments on our website are handled by Stripe. If you subscribe in the iPhone app through the App Store, Apple handles the payment, renewal and refunds under its own terms, and you manage or cancel it in your Apple account. We never see or keep your card number. If we ever change the price, we will tell you at least 30 days before your next charge at the new price, and you can cancel before then.

Using it fairly

Please don't misuse the service: no trying to get into other families' accounts, interfering with how it runs, or using it for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does.

AI assistants

If you connect your own AI assistant, it acts for you, within what you allowed, and you are responsible for what it does in your account. You can disconnect it at any time under Family.

Your information

What your family puts in the app is yours. You let us store and use it only to provide the service to you, as described in our privacy policy. You can delete your family at any time under Family; that also ends your plan.

The service

We work to keep Family Chore Buddy running and your records safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have that the law says can't be limited.

Ending

You can stop using the app and delete your family at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering the service; if we stop it, we will give you notice and a chance to get a copy of your records, and we won't charge for time we don't provide.

Changes and contact

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will update the date above and let account holders know before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, United States. Questions: hello@familychorebuddy.com.
